Opening Statements
Prosecution
This is a case of a reckless man trying to improve his social image through heinous ways. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am Jonathan Scott and I will be representing Gerolamo Kucich. This self-proclaimed 'hero,' is Richard Angelo. Mr. Angelo intentionally harmed his patients and tried to rescue them. Thus, leaving other cohorts to think Mr. Angelo was a hero, superman-like. Unfortunately, Mr. Angelo did not always succeed. My client, Mr. Kucich was one of the more fortunate to survive the attack of Mr. Angelo. Mr. Angelo has harmed many of the patients at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Angelo is a sick man and should be held fully responsible for his horrendous actions.

Defense
Is logical to hold a man of less mental ability, as accountable as a normal man? Most of us would answer with, no. This is the premises of this case. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am Michael Miller and I will be defending Richard Angelo. My client, has hurt many people. But, that is not to say by his own will. All Richard wanted to do was be a hero. And in his conscious, he assumed he was doing good. Richard suffers from a mental disease. This would explain his actions. Of course no one in the right state of mind would commit those actions, but Richard is not a normal person. He is abnormal due to his mental disorder. Richard merely does not understand his wrongdoing due to his disorder. He cannot be held fully accountable for his actions.
